கடந்த (2018) பெப்ரவரி திங்கள் நிகழ்ந்த கனேடியப் பிரதமர் ஜஸ்டின் டிரூடியோவின் 7 நாள் இந்திய சுற்றுப்பயணத்தின் பொழுது இரு நாடுகளுக்கும் இடையே பாதுகாப்பு மற்றும் பயங்கரவாத எதிர்ப்பு, வர்த்தக மற்றும் முதலீடு மற்றும் காலநிலை மாற்றத்தை எதிர்கொள்ளல் தொடர்பாக உடன்படிக்கைகள் கைச்சாத்திடப் பெற்றன. இப்பயணத்தில் அவர் பாரதப் பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடியை பெப்ருவரி 23 ம் தேதி சந்தித்தார். அச்சந்திப்பின் பொழுது அவரின் முதன்மை செயலாளர் வந்தனா கற்றாரும் உடனிருந்தார். வந்தனாவின் மூதாதையர்கள் தென்னிந்தியாவின் தூத்துக்குடி மாவட்ட ஊரான வீரபாண்டியன்பட்டனத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள்.

Vandana was born and raised in Mississauga, Ontario. She attended the University of Toronto where she studied Political Science, History and French. After completing her degree, Vandana worked at TD Bank when she began volunteering for Navdeep Bains, then Member of Parliament (Mississauga-Brampton South). She eventually left TD Bank to pursue a career in politics and served in the provincial and federal governments until she started helping to get Justin Trudeau, Member of Parliament (Papineau), elected as Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada in 2013 and subsequently the Prime Minister of Canada in 2015. Most recently she was Director of Operations for the Hon. Navdeep Bains, now Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada before going on maternity leave. She will assume her role in the Prime Minister's office upon her return.
