மக்கள் தொகை கணக்கெடுப்பு 1658

வெளிநாட்டு சுற்றுலாப் பயணிகளின் வருகையால் ஒரு நகரம் உலக பிரசித்தி பெறும். இன்று ஐரோப்பிய ஒன்றிய பிரான்ஸ் நாட்டின் தலைநகரான பாரீஸ், பிரிட்டன் நாட்டின் தலைநகரான லன்டனை போல் அன்று போர்ச்சுகல் அரசரின் ஆட்சியில் பரவர் நாட்டின் நகரங்கள் உலகம் முழுவதும் பிரசித்தி பெற்றதாகும்.

பரவர் நாட்டை கிபி 1658 இல் டச்சு கிழக்கிந்திய கம்பெனி போர்ச்சுகல் பேரரசிடமிருந்து கைப்பற்றியது.கன்னியாகுமரி முதல் வேம்பார் வரையிலான நிலப்பரப்பில் அமைந்துள்ள இந்நாட்டில் 70,000 பரவர் குடும்பங்கள் பணக்காரர்களாக வாழ்ந்து வந்தனர்.

1,Formerly there were a great number of town on the Fishery Coast which is Famous all over the world ;but ever since the power of Portuguese has been weakened in India, and they have not been able to protect this coast, the most considerable towns are abandoned.

2,The Company had in the seven large and seven small harbours on the Tuticorin Coast, which it took over from the Portuguese, 70,000 families of  Parava Christians under its protection.
